Who We Are

Sidhagiri Bidyapitha Govindpur, situated amidst historical and religious landmarks, including the temples of Lord Bamadev, Sidhagiri Ashram, Shree Jagannath Ashram, Banapadia Shree Ram Ashram, Nahakani Pitha, Jalouka Anand Dham, Maninag Cave, Rasasthali Ashram, Nali Cave, and the renowned Shani Mandir, the school enjoys a picturesque setting along the ambience of the Chennai-Kolkata National Highway, encompassing approximately 5.5 acres of land.

Established in 1965 by the Congregation of nearby villagers, it is a co-educational institution welcoming children from all communities, adhering to the syllabus of the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha. The medium of instruction is Odia. Currently, the school boasts 500 students, 12 teachers, and 3 non-teaching staff. Recognized by BSE Odisha, it has evolved into a full-fledged institution offering classes up to the Matriculation level.

The school's inception traces back to the sacred land of Sidhagiri Ashram during the era of Santha Adikanda Paramanhans, the first devotee of Late Santha Hadidas.

Overcoming challenges, the school progressed, and by the 1967-68 session, the first batch of Class 11th students faced a unique hurdle regarding examination centers. The Board of Secondary Education resolved the matter, allowing the students to sit for exams in O.T.M. High School, Choudwar Center, located in Cuttack District.

The journey continued with perseverance, facing obstacles along the way. From humble beginnings in thatched and tiled structures, the school has evolved into a prominent educational institution, symbolizing growth and progress.

The school earned recognition from the Government of Odisha, obtaining permission to open 8th class in 1968 and subsequently receiving Minimum Grant-In-Aid in the session 1970-71. Direct payment status was granted in March 1974, solidifying financial support for both teaching and non-teaching staff.

A significant turning point occurred in 1994 when the government of Odisha took over direct payment schools, leading to the merger of the M.E. School with the High School on June 7, 1994. Consequently, Sidhagiri Bidyapitha was renamed Sidhagiri Nodal Bidyaptha, as a Government High School.

The school continues to progress, embracing a holistic approach to education with various activities such as yoga, exhibitions, competitions, eye camps, health camps, newspaper reading in prayer classes, sports, and games. With a current enrollment of 488 students, the institution has consistently produced award-winning students in block, district, and state-level competitions.

The celebration of the Golden Jubilee in 2016 marked a historic milestone, giving rise to the Old Students Association (OSA), now a registered entity under the Societies Registration Act. The OSA actively engages in social initiatives.

In conclusion, Sidhagiri Nodal Bidyaptha is more than an educational institution; it is a hub of development, a temple of devotion and dedication, fostering loyalty and peace for generations to come.
